Survivors recounted harrowing experiences, including traders trapped under rubble and relying on limited air and water supplies. Efforts by the rescue teams, which included oxygen delivery and careful excavation, were praised for preventing further casualties.
The government has pledged support for medical care and burial arrangements. Building collapses remain a recurring issue in the region due to poor construction standards and oversight.
