Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, announced the addition of a fourth daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Cairo starting March 27, 2016. This popular route has strengthened ties between the two capitals and offers more travel options, particularly for Egypt’s large expatriate population in the UAE.
The new flight timings cater to business and leisure travelers with flexible choices throughout the day, providing improved connections for those traveling onward from Cairo to the GCC, South and Northeast Asia, and India. Etihad, along with partner Jet Airways, now operates over 250 weekly flights to 15 destinations across India.
Since its launch in 2004, the Cairo route has carried over two million passengers, making it a central part of Etihad’s global network of 116 destinations. Kevin Knight, Etihad’s Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, emphasized the airline’s commitment to expanding options for passengers, as demonstrated by the additional service on this high-demand route.
