Nigeria’s U-20 football team successfully defeated Ghana 2-1, thanks to goals from Kparobo Arierhi.
Arierhi scored the first goal with a classy finish in the 35th minute, putting Nigeria ahead. He doubled the lead before halftime, making it 2-0.
In the second half, Ghana responded with a goal, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome. With this victory, the Flying Eagles claimed the WAFU B U20 championship.
Having beaten Niger 3-1 in the semifinals, the Flying Eagles secured their win over Ghana 2-1. Prior to the final match, Ibrahim Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), praised the team’s fighting spirit and development to motivate and uplift the young players.
This victory also granted the Nigeria U-20 national team the opportunity to participate in the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
