ChitChat aims to expand its services beyond Africa. The platform is planning to focus on advanced economies such as China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, Malaysia, and Canada.
The app will now support currency exchanges among different currencies, provide a virtual wallet, and include a USD virtual debit card. Users of the app will be able to send money to bank accounts, cash agents, and mobile wallets in the local currencies of various countries.
This e-commerce application had previously expanded to countries like Rwanda, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
Now, with its push into remittances, it aims to remove barriers for Africans both at home and abroad, creating a more accessible platform for money transfers.
To lay the groundwork for this, ChitChat has partnered with Mastercard to take a significant step toward expanding its remittance capabilities.
Launched in Zambia, ChitChat is taking its first steps to becoming the go-to social commerce platform for instantaneous USD payments within chat, thereby creating a community for payments and interactions.
