Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Irro” has been declared the sixth president of Somaliland, securing a landslide victory with 63.92% of the votes in the November 13 election. He defeated the incumbent, Muse Bihi Abdi, whose KULMIYE party garnered 34.81%, signaling a shift in the region’s leadership.
Irro, a co-founder of the Justice and Welfare Party (UCID) and leader of the WADDANI party since 2012, is a seasoned politician known for his strategic alliances. This victory follows his previous candidacy in the 2017 election.
