In Mpigi district, police and security agencies have uncovered four suitcases filled with human skulls in a hideout belonging to Tabula Lujja, the orchestrator of the February 25, 2024, murder of Ndiga clan leader Daniel Bbosa. The skulls were discovered in one of Lujja’s shrines during a July 29, 2024, operation.
Lujja, who is currently on the run, is the target of an active manhunt for planning and hiring the individuals who killed Engineer Bbosa in Lungujja, Rubaga division, Kampala, while he was traveling with his family.
Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) Hassan Kasibante confirmed the find on July 29, 2024, noting that the search was incomplete due to the large size of Lujja’s property. The search for additional evidence and exhibits will continue.
“Four suitcases containing over sixteen human skulls were found in one of Lujja’s caves beneath his shrine. Further digging and investigations are set to resume today due to the extensive size of Lujja’s property, as security agencies need to thoroughly search for additional evidence. The discovery strongly indicates his criminal involvement,” Kasibante revealed.
He also noted that regional police will assist in excavating the shrines and searching for more evidence, as Lujja may have buried illegal firearms used in his crimes.
“Given the large number of skulls, it’s possible Lujja either committed these murders or exhumed the skulls from elsewhere. We need to gather all available evidence and investigate how these skulls ended up here,” Kasibante explained.
Despite Lujja being on the run, the manhunt continues. Kasibante urged anyone with information on Lujja’s whereabouts to contact the police, emphasizing that a substantial reward is still being offered as previously announced.
