The transfer window is approaching. Orlando Pirates, who are in the race for the top spot in the South African league and striving to progress from their CAF Champions League group, aim to strengthen their squad under the leadership of head coach Jose Riveiro. However, some players are expected to leave the team.
The Pirates are interested in signing South African left winger Oswin Appollis and right-back Thabang Matuludi, both currently playing for Polokwane City.
It appears they do not plan to retain Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo in their squad. Instead, Ndlondlo will be included in the trade deal to acquire these two players.
Focusing on domestic players, the Pirates have also shown interest in Stellenbosch left-back Fawaaz Basadien. Paseka Mako and Innocent Maela are likely to be used as part of a swap deal to secure Basadien’s transfer.
Additionally, Thuso Moleleki has expressed a desire to return to Orbit College. Zakhele Lepasa, on the other hand, is looking to leave the club due to limited playing time.
These transfer moves have generated excitement among Orlando Pirates fans. However, if the deals are finalized, the key question will be how well the new players adapt to the team.
