The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended a lifeline to flood-affected communities in Somalia by dispatching 700 tonnes of emergency food supplies.
The aid, which is expected to benefit approximately 150,000 Somalis from flood-hit families. The food packages include essential items designed to address the urgent needs of affected communities.
His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to supporting Somalis during these challenging times. “This initiative reflects the strong bilateral ties between our countries and the UAE’s unwavering commitment to assist impacted communities. Our efforts aim to alleviate suffering and accelerate recovery in collaboration with local and international partners,” he said.
The aid shipment is part of a broader humanitarian initiative by the UAE, which has consistently demonstrated its leadership in global disaster response. For Somalia, the assistance serves as a testament to the deep ties between the nations and offers a critical boost to recovery efforts, ensuring stability and development for those in need.
