Turkish Airlines has resumed flights from Istanbul to Benghazi, Libya, after a decade-long suspension, the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, announced on Tuesday.
The flag carrier will operate three weekly flights to the northeastern Libyan city. Turkish Airlines originally launched the Istanbul-Benghazi route in May 2009 but halted operations in January 2015 due to regional instability.
The minister highlighted these developments as part of a broader effort to solidify Türkiye’s role as a global aviation leader, reconnecting with destinations like Benghazi to foster international connectivity.
