A partnership involving 34 Egyptian companies is underway to develop an industrial city in Libya, according to Alaa Nasr, a member of the Board of Directors of the Wood and Furniture Industry Chamber and the Arab Cooperation Committee of the Federation of Egyptian Industries.
Nasr stated in a press release that this initiative follows a recent visit by the Federation’s Arab Cooperation Committee to Libya, during which the participating companies—specializing in industry, trade, contracting, consulting, and services—laid the groundwork for collaboration.
As part of the plan, the companies will establish offices in Libya to promote and streamline government services. Nasr also emphasized the importance of strengthening Egypt’s local industries in key sectors such as food, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing to enhance self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on imported raw materials.
