Sundowns Moves Towards Championship with Strong Victory Over Sekhukhune United
Mamelodi Sundowns secured a decisive 4-2 victory over Sekhukhune United, moving confidently toward another championship title.
They now have a 15-point lead over their closest rival, Orlando Pirates, providing them with a significant psychological advantage. However, despite this dominant position, Sundowns’ head coach Miguel Cardoso is unhappy with the team’s demanding fixture schedule.
Although they lead second-place Orlando Pirates by 15 points, Sundowns have played four more games than their rivals. On Saturday, they will face Kaizer Chiefs, a team looking to prove their strength after a lackluster start to the season.
Sundowns, having already played eight matches in February, will now meet another formidable team as they head into March.
Cardoso expressed his frustration with the situation, saying:
“It’s absolutely insane what’s happening to Sundowns.”
“The schedule is insane, it’s not normal, it doesn’t respect a human being and I think it should be thought of and well considered because I don’t know how it’s possible.”
“But we keep alive, we struggle and will continue pushing forward for sure.”
