Ecobank Uganda successfully hosted the SME Advisory Breakfast Workshop, a special event aimed at building business connections and supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The meeting, held at the Sheraton Hotel, brought together over 80 SME clients and Ecobank representatives for discussions on business development and financial solutions.
The workshop provided a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and engagement with Ecobank’s range of innovative products and services. The main focus was on Ellevate, the bank’s women empowerment initiative, and the Ecobank Single Market Trade Hub, which facilitates cross-border trade in Africa’s single market.
With SMEs contributing 80% of Uganda’s GDP and 90% to the private sector, the event was an opportunity for business owners to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore growth strategies. It also highlighted the challenges facing Uganda’s 1.8 million informal businesses, many of which are run by women and youth.
Speaking at the event, Ecobank Uganda General Manager Grace Muliisa highlighted the bank’s dedication to supporting SMEs. “Our vision is to connect people, create opportunities and drive sustainable business growth. This workshop allows us to engage directly with our customers and help them unlock their full potential with Ecobank’s innovative solutions.”
Beyond empowering SMEs, the workshop also provided Ecobank with valuable insights into customer needs and reinforced its commitment to providing customer-centric, personalized financial services that drive business success.
