Al Ahly, the most successful team in the CAF Champions League, has signed a marketing partnership with Austrian energy drink giant Red Bull.
This partnership aims to make a significant step toward increasing the global recognition of Al Ahly, one of Egypt’s most historic clubs.
This agreement is not your typical sponsorship deal. Rather than plastering Red Bull’s logo everywhere associated with the club, the focus is on international marketing campaigns that connect Al Ahly fans worldwide to the Red Bull brand.
Al Ahly aims to leverage innovative fan engagement activities and benefit from Red Bull’s strong expertise in sports science. The goal is to improve player conditioning and enhance the quality of their training with Red Bull’s expertise.
Red Bull is an active player in the football market, owning clubs like RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls. However, unlike these clubs, Al Ahly has a rich football heritage and tradition.
Although Egyptian football has not yet made a global impact, it is in a strong position on the continental level. Additionally, the global recognition of Mohammed Salah’s legendary status at Liverpool and Omar Marmoush’s recent transfer to Manchester City has greatly increased the visibility of Egyptian football.
This partnership could bring positive results both for the club and for the company.
