To strengthen Africa’s cybersecurity, Kaspersky has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Smart Africa.
This agreement will promote collaboration aimed at expanding cybersecurity capabilities across the continent.
Training programs offered by Kaspersky Academy will help professionals develop practical cybersecurity skills. Kaspersky is a company committed to empowering female professionals in the IT sector and attracting more women into the field.
As a result, this partnership will also include initiatives to empower women in cybersecurity, STEM, and information and communication technologies (ICT).
In addition to developing human resources, the partnership aims to standardize security policies. Both organizations that signed the MoU will work closely with cybersecurity authorities, law enforcement agencies, computer emergency response teams (CERT), industry leaders, and other key stakeholders to establish aligned policies at regional and national levels. This will help implement a unified approach to digital security across Africa.
The partnership also seeks to enhance technological defenses by establishing critical cybersecurity infrastructures, such as security operations centers and computer emergency response teams, while providing proactive technical consulting services to combat cybercrime.
Furthermore, the partnership contributes to the efforts of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), an initiative designed by Smart Africa to bring together cybersecurity authorities and develop collective solutions against cyber threats and cyber crimes.
For the continent, this agreement could lead to groundbreaking advancements in cybersecurity and serve as a model for future initiatives and innovations in the field.
