The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, arrived in Mali on Saturday, March 8, as part of a working and friendly visit. The President of Mali was welcomed at the Modibo Keïta-Sénou International Airport by his Malian counterpart, Army General Assimi Goïta.
This visit follows the visit of the President of Ghana to Ivory Coast a few days ago, where his Ivory Coast counterpart, Alassane Dramane Ouattara, asked him to reintegrate the member states of the AES Confederation (Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger) into the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS).
Beyond the regional dimensions, Saturday’s visit provides the Presidents of Ghana and Mali with the opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation. Indeed, Bamako and Accra have recently demonstrated their improved capabilities.
