England secured a seven-wicket victory against South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Contributions of 43 from Danni Wyatt-Hodge and 48 from Nat Sciver-Brunt enabled England to reach their target of 125 with four balls to spare. The duo rewarded their team with smart running between the wickets.
They managed to restrict South Africa, who had eliminated England in the previous women’s tournament, to 124-6.
Captain Laura Wolvaardt’s 42 runs were not enough for the Proteas.
Both teams are competing for the top position in Group B. The Proteas are looking to boost their morale by winning against Scotland, who have no victories in the group, on Wednesday. They aim to continue in the tournament and seek revenge against Australia, who eliminated them last year.
