The Nigerian Army (NA) bid a final farewell to Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa, the Director of Legal Services, in a solemn ceremony at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, along with senior officers, colleagues, family, friends, and sympathizers, gathered to pay tribute to the late general’s distinguished service. In his remarks, General Lagbaja praised Major General Musa for his significant contributions to the military legal system and his steadfast dedication, which, he said, will leave a lasting mark on the NA’s legacy.
During a funeral service at All Saints Military Protestant Church in Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, Major General Ohwohigho Akpor, Chief of Administration (Army), highlighted the late officer’s brilliance, diligence, resourcefulness, and moral integrity, noting his vast experience and ability to mentor others. General Akpor also commended Major General Musa’s commitment to national service and his efforts in training personnel within the Directorate of Army Legal Services, acknowledging the lasting impact he had on those around him.
The burial ceremony featured the presentation of the national flag to the deceased’s next of kin by the COAS, represented by Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, Chief of Policy and Plans (Army). It also included a 21-gun salute and the laying of wreaths in the late general’s honor.
Born on May 4, 1968, in Okpella, Edo State, Major General Musa joined the National Guard on September 25, 1993, through Direct Regular Commission and rose to the rank of Major General. He served as the Director of Legal Services (Army) until his passing on September 23, 2024.
The interment was attended by senior officers from Defence and Army Headquarters, retired and serving military officials, as well as prominent figures such as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN), along with family, friends, and sympathizers.
