XA Network, founded in Southeast Asia, has announced its expansion into Africa, where it will operate under the name XA Africa. With this move, XA Network aims to grow in Africa and support promising startups.
The founding members of XA Africa include former Google Sub-Saharan Africa Managing Director Nitin Gajria, Google Black Founders Fund founder Jason Scott, and South African-born YouTube Marketing Director Marek Dawidowicz. With this experienced team, XA Africa will be well-positioned to capitalize on the continent’s economic opportunities and achieve its objectives.
XA Africa’s mission goes beyond providing funding; it also seeks to offer mentorship, guidance, and support through its extensive network. This will help startups overcome both operational and market-related challenges as they grow.
XA Network has already made several investments across Africa, including in the Kenyan mobility platform BuuPass, South African edtech startup Kaya, Nigerian agritech startup Crop2Cash, and Ghanaian healthtech company Talamus Health.
XA Network sees these investments as part of its strategy to build a strong bridge between African and Southeast Asian ecosystems. Having invested in nearly 100 startups over the past six years, XA Network has already established itself as a leading player in Southeast Asia.
On November 7, 2024, XA Africa will host its first Demo Day, where investors will have the opportunity to meet with four African startups and explore potential investment opportunities.
