Arsenal is interested in Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze as an alternative to the injured Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners are looking to secure the AC Milan star during the January transfer window. However, Arsenal is not the only club targeting the player, as Aston Villa has also shown interest, setting the stage for a potential battle between the two teams.
Since joining the Italian giants during the summer transfer window of 2023, Chukwueze has struggled to secure a regular spot in AC Milan’s starting lineup. This season, he has registered 3 goals and 1 assist in 21 matches but has yet to play over 1,000 minutes.
Despite these challenges, Samuel Chukwueze remains a highly valuable player due to his ability to perform on both wings and deliver game-changing performances.
Arsenal has been impressed by Chukwueze’s creativity, speed, and versatility, and manager Mikel Arteta believes he can seamlessly integrate the winger into his system.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa, aiming for European success, is also looking to add depth to their squad by signing Chukwueze.
AC Milan is open to selling the player and plans to recoup most of their €20 million investment.
