The 2024 CAF Awards were held in the vibrant city of Marrakesh, Morocco, where the winners were celebrated in a grand event.
Ademola Lookman, like his compatriot and teammate Victor Osimhen who won the award last year, was named CAF Men’s Player of the Year.
In the women’s category, Zambia’s Barbra Banda won the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
South Africa’s Ronwen Williams was honored with both the Goalkeeper of the Year and Club Player of the Year awards.
Emerse Fae, who led Ivory Coast to victory in the AFCON, was named Coach of the Year. Ivory Coast, the AFCON champions, also claimed the National Team of the Year title.
Monaco’s Lamine Camara, who was named Young Player of the Year, won the Young Player of the Year award.
The Club of the Year award went to Al Ahly, the CAF Champions League winners.
The CAF Men’s Best XI includes goalkeeper Andre Onana, defenders Achraf Hakimi, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Chancel Mbemba, midfielders Mohammed Kudus, Sofyan Amrabat, Franck Kessie, Yves Bissouma, and forwards Mohamed Salah, Victor Osimhen, and Ademola Lookman.
In the women’s category, the Club Player of the Year award went to Sanaa Mssoudy, the Goalkeeper of the Year award to Chiamaka Nnadozie, and the Young Player of the Year award to Doha El Madani.
The Women’s Coach of the Year was from TP Mazembe, the CAF Women’s Champions League winners.
TP Mazembe was also named Club of the Year, and Nigeria was awarded the National Team of the Year title. The Women’s Best XI includes Andile Dlamini, Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Lebohang Ramalepe, Karabo Dlamini, Linda Motlhalo, Rasheedat Ajibade, Ghizlane Chebbak, Barbra Banda, Asisat Oshoala, and Tabitha Chawinga.
