The selected startups for the 2024 Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program have been revealed.
Each of these six startups will receive support valued at 50,000 USD and will have access to up to 200,000 USD in Google Cloud credits. These investments are expected to contribute to the digital growth of the continent.
One of the startups receiving support from Google is Swagshack. This startup aims to connect emerging fashion brands with customers, focusing on simplifying order management and deliveries.
Another startup, Mapha Logistics, creates digital tools designed to help merchants in urban and rural areas optimize their business operations.
The third startup, Aveade, offers a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers while providing a wide variety of products.
Breaze Delivery is a real-time delivery platform that links businesses with a driver network to facilitate seamless logistics between them.
The fifth startup receiving Google’s support is Wisi-Oi, a resale platform that makes it easier to buy and sell second-hand clothing.
Lastly, Vuleka is an e-commerce and fintech platform designed to bridge informal township businesses with online and offline customers.
These six startups will also gain access to industry-leading mentors. With this investment from Google, significant developments are expected within Africa’s tech ecosystem.
