Real Madrid is currently interested in Moroccan player Nayef Aguerd, who is on loan at Real Sociedad.
The Spanish giant has had a worse-than-expected start to the season and is looking to strengthen its squad in January by acquiring the 28-year-old West Ham United defender.
The Champions League champions have faced some problems in their defense this season, with the biggest issue being the injury of star defender Eder Militao, who is out for the season.
Additionally, David Alaba has not yet returned from his injury, further limiting Real Madrid’s options in central defense.
Aguerd, who has rediscovered his form at Real Sociedad, could fill this gap, and for these reasons, he looks set to join Real Madrid.
Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is also on Real Madrid’s radar, but it is believed that the English club is unlikely to let him go in the middle of the season.
However, Aguerd’s transfer is not going to be easy either, as he is valued at 35 million euros. West Ham United would need to terminate his loan deal with Real Sociedad to facilitate a transfer.
However, since Real Sociedad does not have a purchase option, this could make things somewhat easier for Real Madrid.
