After each team played six games, Algeria finished at the top of the group with 16 points, while Equatorial Guinea secured second place with 8 points. Togo, with 5 points, and Liberia, with 4 points, were eliminated from the tournament.
In their final match, Algeria defeated Liberia with a commanding 5-1 score. Although Liberia initially took the lead in the 6th minute with a goal from defender Sampson Dweh, Algeria quickly equalized through Aissa Mandi. Riyad Mahrez put Algeria ahead before the first half ended.
Algeria dominated the game, adding more goals with Baghdad Bounedjah, Amine Gouiri, and Mohamed El Amine Amoura all scoring, leaving no doubt about the outcome.
In the other match, Togo bid farewell to the tournament with a strong 3-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea. The star of the game was forward Yaw Annor, who scored twice, with Kevin Denkey also contributing a stunning long-range goal to seal the scoreline.
