Former Ghana international Augustine Ahinful has stated that the management of the Black Stars needs to be streamlined for better organization.
He shared the idea of creating new structures within the Ghana Football Association, such as independent management committees for each age group.
In an interview with Happy FM, the former player expressed, “I believe we need to move away from having separate management teams for all the national teams.” He also added, “It’s time to establish a proper structure, so for example, when the U20 team is playing, two or three people can be appointed to oversee it.”
“There’s no one speaking up. If the Football Association does something wrong, they can’t speak out because they want to stay in the management team,” he said.
The Ghana national team was unexpectedly eliminated from the AFCON, which caused a public outcry. The Black Stars, with their quality squad and strong history, receiving this result was met with significant criticism.
Perhaps Ahinful’s suggestions could quickly help bring Ghana football back together.
The Ghanaian former footballer played for one of the big teams in Turkey’s Süper Lig, Trabzonspor, where he made 130 league appearances, scoring 45 goals and providing 15 assists.
He also netted 5 goals for the national team.
