Recent rumors suggest that Arsenal has reached an agreement with Napoli for a £62 million transfer fee for the Nigerian forward.
Offers for Victor Osimhen, who has a relatively low release clause compared to his career, are increasing and becoming clearer by the day. Arsenal is emerging as one of the biggest contenders for the Nigerian striker.
Struggling with their forward options, Arsenal managed to take 33 shots in their last two matches but only hit the target three times. In their most recent match against Leicester, Mikel Arteta deployed Mikel Merino as a striker. Although the tactic worked, Arteta does not see it as a permanent solution.
Osimhen is being monitored by major European clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United. Currently on loan at the Turkish club Galatasaray, his parent club Napoli still holds his rights. Due to internal issues with the player, Napoli is looking to offload him and has lowered his release clause to £70 million.
Arteta plans to pay this fee and play Osimhen as the main striker, positioning Kai Havertz behind him. If the Osimhen transfer does not materialize, Benjamin Sesko is being considered as an alternative option.
