Egyptian winger Omar Marmoush, who transferred from German club Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City for £59 million, had the chance to showcase his high form in the Premier League for the first time.
In the league match against Newcastle United, he scored three goals in under 14 minutes. This marked the first hat-trick by someone other than Haaland in Manchester City for a long time.
The last player to score a hat-trick for City, apart from Haaland, was Phil Foden, who achieved this feat in the match against Brentford a year ago.
Marmoush had already demonstrated his potential by scoring 20 goals in the first half of the season for Eintracht Frankfurt. He showcased his goal-scoring abilities again against Newcastle.
Additionally, his ability to move forward purposefully and quickly, while finding open space when the ball is at his feet, was particularly impressive.
Meanwhile, another Egyptian player, Mohamed Salah, who is already considered one of Liverpool’s greatest legends, may leave the Premier League. Salah is currently the Premier League’s top scorer with 22 goals and the player with the most assists in the league with 14.
In the 35 matches he has played this season, he has accumulated an astonishing 27 goals and 19 assists. However, there is speculation that the star player may leave the league during the summer transfer window.
Different from Salah, Marmoush could inherit the legacy of dominating the Premier League. If he continues this level of performance, Marmoush could provide a great goal-scoring alternative for Manchester City.
