Cassava Technologies has announced its plan to establish Africa’s first AI factory.
This state-of-the-art data center will be powered by NVIDIA AI computing technology. Additionally, it will support various African businesses, governments, and researchers in developing AI-driven solutions, optimizing their operations, and remaining competitive.
The AI factory will provide the necessary supercomputers and software to train AI models while ensuring that data remains within Africa’s borders.
To deliver AI services, Cassava will leverage its pan-African high-speed, ultra-low-latency fiber-optic network and sustainable data centers.
The AI factory will be powered by NVIDIA GPU-based supercomputers, offering accelerated AI model training, fine-tuning, and advanced inference capabilities.
With this initiative, Cassava aims to become the first company to introduce these cutting-edge computing platforms to Africa.
Cassava’s Founder and Chairman, Strive Masiyiwa, made the following statement:
“Building digital infrastructure for the AI economy is a priority if Africa is to take full advantage of the fourth industrial revolution.”
“Our AI Factory provides the infrastructure for this innovation to scale, empowering African businesses, startups, and researchers with access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure to turn their bold ideas into real-world breakthroughs — and now, they don’t have to look beyond Africa to get it.”
“Collaborating with NVIDIA gives us the advanced computing capabilities needed to drive Africa’s AI innovation while strengthening the continent’s digital independence.”
