Chelsea and Liverpool, who have been linked with Victor Osimhen, are now pursuing a different Nigerian player.
Both clubs are keen on signing Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman in the summer transfer window. Both clubs are ready to offer €75 million for the player.
Lookman’s Impressive Journey
Lookman previously played for Everton in England. He later transferred to RB Leipzig, where he had several loan spells back in, England.
Most recently, he joined Atalanta and has had an impressive breakthrough, showcasing excellent form.
In his 110 Serie A appearances, Lookman has scored 50 goals and provided 22 assists. He is known for being both effective in front of goal and for his creative abilities, which has kept top clubs interested in him.
Although his relationship with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has been negatively affected by harsh statements, Lookman remains one of the key players at the club.
However, it is highly likely that the player will take the next step in his career.
Chelsea and Liverpool Seek Reinforcements
Chelsea is looking to strengthen their attack and is seeking a player who can compete with Nicolas Jackson for a place in the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is looking to reinforce their forward line, with Mohamed Salah’s potential departure and the possible sale of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota weakening their attack.
Both clubs are willing to offer €75 million for Lookman, and if the player decides to return to England, either club will present him with an offer.
