Victor Osimhen has confirmed that he will stay at Galatasaray until the end of the season, leaving Chelsea fans disappointed.
Osimhen, who has recently found his form and taken the Turkish Süper Lig by storm, managed to score again in yesterday’s match against Beşiktaş.
After the game, Osimhen stated his desire to remain with Galatasaray until the end of the season, despite Chelsea’s continued pursuit. The Premier League side will use all their resources to try to sign him during the winter transfer window.
Last summer, Chelsea attempted to bring Osimhen into their squad, but Napoli raised the stakes by setting his price at €130 million. Chelsea didn’t want to pay that amount, and the transfer window closed without a deal. As a result, Victor Osimhen remained at Galatasaray.
Chelsea is currently satisfied with the performance of their forward Nicolas Jackson, but they are still looking for a world-class striker who can score 20 goals per season. Osimhen fits that description perfectly. However, Osimhen’s recent statements suggest that Chelsea will have to wait another year before making a move.
Nonetheless, with Osimhen’s contract with Napoli running shorter, Chelsea could have an easier time completing the transfer when the time comes.
