The renewable energy firm Cleanergy Namibia continues to advance its ammonia and green energy terminal project.
The company’s goal is to complete this project by 2028. The allocated budget for this project has reached $230 million. The firm has successfully obtained two environmental clearance certificates while continuing its specialized studies.
However, to achieve its goals, they need to secure a permit from the Namibia Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism by March next year.
Regarding these efforts, Eike Krafft, a member of the company’s Development Committee, stated, “We are focusing on commercial ammonia production, aiming for a target of around 2030 for this phase two project.”
In support of this terminal, Cleanergy is developing a €10 billion green hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Walvis Bay, which will enable the use of green hydrogen for various applications, including trucks, port equipment, and railway operations.
