Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has committed $50 million to expand its bottling operations in Namibia, launching a new production line capable of producing 27,000 bottles per hour. This investment is set to increase the plant’s production capacity by 30% and bolster growth throughout the company’s supply chain.
The initiative includes the installation of a state-of-the-art water treatment facility featuring advanced water recovery technology to minimize water consumption. Additionally, the upgrade integrates AI-driven technology, which will require specialized employee training, helping to build a workforce prepared for future industry demands.
Pottie de Bruyn, CCBA’s General Manager in Namibia, emphasized that the investment will boost local businesses supplying raw materials and services. CEO Sunil Gupta added that this expansion underscores CCBA’s confidence in Namibia’s potential, aligning with the company’s goal to enhance customer service and delivery efficiency across its value chain.
