The FIFA international club rankings have been updated today.
The Argentina national team continues to hold the top position, while many teams in Africa have changed their standings.
Morocco, which reached the semifinals by eliminating Portugal in the last World Cup, has become the highest-ranked African team at 14th place. Senegal, in 20th place, and Egypt, in 30th place, follow Morocco in the rankings.
Thanks to their impressive performances in AFCON, Nigeria and Algeria share the 36th and 37th positions. Despite not suffering any losses in the current tournament, the Ivory Coast, the winner of the last cup, has dropped to 40th place.
One of the biggest surprises in the rankings is Burkina Faso’s remarkable progress, surpassing Ireland. Currently in 62nd place, they could climb higher as the tournament progresses.
The team that has made the most significant rise in the entire ranking is Comoros, jumping 10 places from 118th to 108th.
