The Republic of Congo will officially initiate a licensing round for its open oil and gas blocks during the Congo Energy and Investment Forum (CEIF), set for March 25-26, 2025, in Brazzaville.
Minister of Hydrocarbons Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua confirmed that preparations are underway to finalize the necessary regulatory framework ahead of the event. This initiative is part of the government’s strategy to boost hydrocarbon production and diversify revenue streams amid global oil price fluctuations.
Key projects like the Congo LNG initiative on the Marine XII permit and the Banko Kayo gas monetization program remain priorities despite international market challenges.
The CEIF, debuting this year, will gather international investors and local stakeholders to discuss opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors. The forum will also showcase developments in gas-to-power initiatives and ongoing expansions across the country.
