A memorial ceremony took place in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital, honoring the children who lost their lives in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Sudan.
Organized by the Free Palestine Initiative, the event at King Tomislav Square featured the laying of flowers and the lighting of candles for the children killed in these regions.
Ratka Visnjic, representing the Free Palestine Initiative, spoke at the event, expressing sorrow for each life lost. “We gathered here to remember the children whose dreams were cruelly taken away in these genocides,” she said.
Visnjic highlighted that over 16,000 children were tragically killed in Gaza and expressed deep concern about the ongoing situation in Lebanon, where more than 50 children were killed in Israeli attacks within just two days. She also reminded those present not to forget the thousands of children killed in Sudan and Syria.
Hundreds gathered at the event, reading poems in memory of the children, with plans for similar commemorations in other cities across the country.
