Super Eagles B coach Daniel Ogunmodede, while continuing preparations for the upcoming CHAN qualifier against Ghana, emphasized that his team is not focused on the past but on the present and the future.
Ogunmodede, who is also the manager of Remo Stars, acknowledged the difficult moments in past matches against Ghana but stressed that the current success of Nigerian young talents is more important.
“We know history has not been sincere with us as a country. So we’ve decided not to pay attention to what history has done to us,”
“We pay maximum attention to the present and what the future holds for us. We know how important it is for us [to qualify]. If we qualify, we have a good future for ourselves—for the players, for the coaches, and for the country and the incoming generation of footballers in the country.”
“We need to give everything to be a good market for the league. That is, to whom much is given, much is expected.”
The Nigerian B team will host Ghana in Uyo, aiming to secure the advantage and represent their country in the upcoming tournament.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, stated that they are looking to start fresh with this match and secure a clean sheet.
