The First Vice President of the ECOWAS Parliament and Vice President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his resolute leadership and commitment to West Africa’s progress.
Speaking at the opening of the First Extraordinary Session of the 2025 ECOWAS Parliament in Lagos, Senator Barau commended President Tinubu, who chairs the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, for his strategic vision to promote regional stability, economic growth and democratic governance.
Describing Tinubu as an “inspiration” and a “pillar of progress”, Barau highlighted how his leadership has strengthened regional cooperation and increased confidence in the collective future of West Africa.
“His leadership has paved the way for a more prosperous and resilient West Africa. “The ECOWAS Parliament remains deeply grateful for his continued support and guidance,” Barau said.
He also thanked Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for convening the session and reaffirmed the Parliament’s commitment to promoting integration among member states. “Our joint efforts and decision-making will enhance regional cooperation, unity and development. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to prosperity and progress,” he added.
