Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh Hefny, has engaged in high-level talks with a UAE delegation to explore opportunities for boosting cooperation within the civil aviation sector. The discussions, which focused on advancing strategic aviation projects, were aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and fostering sustainable growth within the industry.
Leading the UAE delegation was Mohammed Abdullah Al-Salami, Chairman of the Fujairah Department of Civil Aviation and Deputy Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority’s Board of Directors. The delegation also included Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.
The meeting centered on key areas of collaboration, including air navigation, airport infrastructure development, and significant aviation initiatives in Dubai and Fujairah. Both parties expressed a strong interest in jointly developing state-of-the-art air traffic management systems, improving airport facilities, and increasing efficiency within the region’s aviation network.
In addition, the two sides discussed strengthening their partnership in training and sharing technical expertise, with a particular focus on Dubai’s air navigation training center. This center, recognized for its excellence in air traffic control education, was highlighted as a potential platform for enhanced bilateral cooperation in training programs.
Minister Hefny underscored Egypt’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its aviation infrastructure and integrating sustainable practices into the sector. He emphasized the importance of technological innovation and environmental sustainability, aiming to position Egypt as a regional leader in the aviation industry.
The talks signify a strengthened partnership between Egypt and the UAE, with both countries looking to leverage their expertise and resources to drive progress in the aviation sector, positioning it for a prosperous and sustainable future.
