Enyimba, which did not have the best start to the Nigerian League, has reinforced its squad with several new signings.
The Nigerian side aims to compete for the top spot in the remainder of the season.
The club has secured the services of center-back Afolayan Peters and midfielder Quadiri Olusunkanmi from Heartland FC, as well as attacking midfielder Opeoluwa Olufemi and defensive midfielder Gozie Umeh from Sunshine Stars.
Additionally, striker Junior Lokosa has also joined the team. Left-back Solomon Onome has been added to the squad as well.
Enyimba did not stop there. The club also signed Nelson Micheal, who previously played for Shashemene Kanema, and defender Ebube Micheal.
After being eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba is determined to finish the season strongly and secure a place in international competitions for next year.
Enyimba FC Chairman Kanu Nwankwo expressed his satisfaction with the new signings, stating:
“We are thrilled to welcome these talented players to our squad. They bring a wealth of experience, skill, and passion, which will undoubtedly strengthen our team.”
Currently, Enyimba sits 11th in the league with 34 points, trailing league leaders Remo Stars by 14 points.
If the new signings can quickly adapt to the team, Enyimba has the potential to replicate last season’s strong performance and make an impact on the international stage next season.
