Hilton and Brighton Hotels and Business Plc. have signed a $67.6 million agreement to develop two DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Ethiopia. The projects, set for Adama and Dire Dawa, aim to boost the country’s hospitality sector.
The Adama hotel will be constructed on a 7,960m² site with a $37.6 million investment. It will offer 188 rooms, including suites and accessible accommodations. The construction phase is expected to create 500 jobs, with 366 permanent and 80 contract-based positions available once operational.
In Dire Dawa, a hotel will be developed on an 11,319m² site with a $30 million investment. Featuring 150 guest rooms and similar amenities, the project will generate 400 jobs during construction and employ 285 permanent and 80 contract-based workers after completion.
