Technological investments are continuing across Africa, with access to technological resources and inclusivity expanding day by day.
According to data compiled by Techloy, this week’s investments across the continent include the following: Kenya’s firm Sistema.bio raised $15 million to scale its biogas solution, while another Kenyan company, Octavia Carbon, secured $5 million in funding for its clean technology project.
South Africa’s renewable energy startup, Grid Africa, received $2.8 million for its projects. Egypt’s Rabbit Mobility raised $1.3 million to support its expansion plans, and Kenya’s Lapaire secured $3 million to expand its operations.
Sistema.bio, which secured the highest amount of funding this week with $15 million, was founded in 2010 by Alex Eaton and Camilo Pages. The company offers technology that converts animal waste into clean biogas.
This biogas is used for cooking, heating, electricity generation, and producing nutrient-rich biofertilizer that boosts agricultural productivity. With the new funding, the company plans to expand its operations, enter new markets, and provide clean energy and regenerative agricultural solutions.
