Galatasaray wants to buy the permanent rights of Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen, who they loaned from Napoli for one year.
Osimhen was loaned to Galatasaray at the beginning of the season for €9 million. Currently, there is a €66 million purchase option for the player.
At the moment, top European clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid are interested in the player, but Galatasaray is looking for creative solutions to finance this major transfer. According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Galatasaray plans to launch a high-tech mobile application to fund the transfer.
The app will offer a premium membership priced at 2,500 Turkish Lira. Fans will have access to exclusive perks such as participating in training sessions, meeting the players, and other behind-the-scenes experiences through this membership.
Galatasaray plans to cover the first installment of Osimhen’s transfer by selling 500,000 premium memberships. Talks between Galatasaray and Napoli have already started.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has appointed three senior managers to oversee the deal, and the club is now entering the final stage of this high-stakes transfer saga.
If successful, this method could be one of the most innovative transfer strategies ever used. Osimhen has been in superb form this season, scoring 28 goals in 32 matches. This is why Galatasaray is very eager to sign him permanently.
