On Saturday, Guinea launched a comprehensive nationwide polio vaccination campaign in Kindia, focusing on approximately 2.5 million children under the age of five. This initiative will cover 21 health districts across the country, aiming to administer additional doses of the polio vaccine to prevent the disease, which is known for causing paralysis in young children. Health and Public Hygiene Minister Oumar Diouhe Bah highlighted that the campaign is a crucial step in combating polio and protecting vulnerable children. He also assured that health facilities are well-prepared with sufficient vaccine supplies to reach all children in high-risk areas, ensuring broad coverage and reducing the risk of outbreaks.
