All Kenyans from birth to age eighteen would receive free healthcare, according to President Ruto
President William Ruto has said that all Kenyans, from birth to the age of eighteen, will receive free healthcare when the Social Health Insurance program kicks in in three months.
The President declared that Kenyans would soon be able to take advantage of the Social Health Insurance Fund’s free medical coverage.
The President also announced that children in primary schools will now have access to the EduAfya medical coverage, which was previously only available to secondary school students.
Speaking on Friday, the Head of State took part in a tour of development projects in the Mùrang’a County constituencies of Mathioya, Kíharù, and Gatanga.
“We are altering the previous model, which exclusively offered secondary school pupils health insurance. All children enrolled in school up until the age of 18 will now receive medical insurance from the government, stated Ruto.
President Ruto also announced an expansion of the Linda Mama program, which will allow women to receive 10 prenatal and postnatal visits instead of the existing six.
