Sundowns Aiming for Another Title as They Strengthen Their Squad
Mamelodi Sundowns, who have won consecutive league titles in recent years, remain a strong contender this season.
They currently hold a commanding position in the league, leading their closest rival, Orlando Pirates, by six points with a game in hand. This is a significant achievement, as Sundowns have lost only one match in the league so far.
In the CAF Champions League, they continue to progress and aim to maintain their strength in both major competitions. Their goal is to successfully finish the season at the top, which is why they are looking to strengthen their squad.
As part of their efforts, Sundowns have recalled Matías Esquivel from his loan spell at Argentine club CA Talleres. The 25-year-old midfielder played 13 matches in Argentina and is expected to add dynamism to Sundowns’ midfield.
Both the domestic league and the CAF Champions League are long and demanding competitions. Teams aiming for the top need more rotation players to sustain their performance throughout the season.
