Leeds United, who are currently sitting at the top of the table in the EFL Championship, are looking to add Leonard Ngenge to their squad.
The young defender currently plays for Ikorodu City, one of Nigeria’s strong teams.
According to Soccernet.ng, Leeds United have already signed a pre-contract agreement with the player. Ngenge is expected to join the club during the summer transfer window.
With Leeds having a high chance of gaining promotion to the Premier League, the young defender might begin his international career in one of the most competitive leagues in the world.
Since he has not yet turned 18, Ngenge will initially join Leeds United’s U18 squad. He will then gradually transition to the U21 team.
Leeds United see this transfer as a long-term investment. The club has a strong tradition of developing young players and turning them into top-level footballers.
