Libya and Indonesia are strengthening their tourism and business relations with a new initiative focused on halal-friendly travel. The Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli announced the collaboration following a meeting hosted by Chargé d’Affaires Dede Achmad Rifai with ten leading Libyan travel agents near the historic Marcus Aurelius Monument.
During the gathering, Indonesia’s top tourist destinations were showcased, and the upcoming Bali & Beyond Travel Fair 2025 (BBTF)—set for June 11-15—was introduced as a key platform for tourism promotion, business partnerships, and cultural exchange. The embassy encouraged Libyan participation, highlighting opportunities for collaboration.
Beyond Bali, Indonesia is also inviting Libyan entrepreneurs to explore business and leisure opportunities at the Trade Expo Indonesia in October 2025. Attendees will have access to major attractions, including cultural heritage sites, entertainment parks, and shopping districts offering high-quality products.
The Indonesian Embassy assured support for Libyan travel agents at both events, emphasizing Indonesia’s extensive range of halal-friendly services, accommodations, and dining options. This initiative reflects Indonesia’s commitment to expanding its tourism sector while deepening diplomatic and economic ties with Libya.
