Mamelodi Sundowns, who have claimed the league title for seven consecutive years and currently lead the table, might lose a member of their coaching staff.
Following the departure of Rulani Mokwena, the South African team announced a three-member coaching lineup. Manqoba Mngqithi was appointed as head coach, with Steve Komphela serving as assistant coach. Shortly after, Romain Folz, who had previously managed AmaZulu and Marumo Gallants, joined the team.
Among this trio, reports suggest that Romain Folz has attracted interest. Moroccan giants Raja Athletic Club are said to be keen on bringing him into their ranks as head coach.
However, Folz is still under contract with Sundowns and has not been with the team for very long. This makes his potential move to Raja a less likely scenario.
Sundowns have previously lost high-profile coaches, including Pitso Mosimane to Al Ahly and Mokwena to Wydad Casablanca. For this reason, the club may prioritize retaining Folz to maintain stability within their technical team.
