A suicide car bombing in the early hours of the morning that attacked an intelligence security post near the capital, Mogadishu, claimed the lives of at least five persons.
According to witnesses, the explosives-laden car blew up outside the National Intelligence and Security Agency [NISA] site’s main entrance. An explosion occurred when a car bomb at the checkpoint was stopped by a NISA vehicle in order to safeguard senior commanders and soldiers. Authorities reported that 14 people were hurt in the event, which happened in the Garasbaley district, although they did not provide many specifics.
According to authorities, there was another vehicle bomb explosion in the vicinity, but it was stopped before it could reach its target. The event happened on the highway connecting Mogadishu and Afgoye.
Assuming responsibility for the incident, the Al-Shabaab terrorists assert that they have killed “several members of NISA.” The militants, however, have a reputation for inflating information to suit their purposes; according to sources, they have recently lost fights.
According to the outdated media, NISA chief Abdullahi Sanbalolshe visited the attack site to evaluate the damage and casualty toll.
Thousands of terrorists have been slain as the Somali National Army, with support from the US Africa Command and the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), has successfully taken control of key strategically important locations in the nation.
The military is currently actively engaged in the southern and central regions of the second phase of operations against Al- Shabaab, with positive results in Jubaland. About 500 kilometers south of the capital, Mogadishu, on the fringes of the port city of Kismayo, about 135 Al-Shabaab members were slain last month.
