The 7th edition of the Atlas Workshops, part of the Marrakech International Film Festival, concluded with notable achievements for African filmmakers. Among the honorees was Linda Lo, who earned second place in the development category for her autobiographical film “Lucky Girl”. Reflecting on the experience, Lo shared her gratitude, emphasizing the collaborative spirit and invaluable mentorship throughout the event.
Egyptian director Morad Mostafa secured the Atlas Prize for post-production with his film “Aïsha Can’t Fly”. The movie portrays the life of a young Sudanese caregiver navigating daily challenges in Cairo. Mostafa highlighted the opportunity to connect with industry professionals during the workshops as a significant boost for the film’s progress.
Hédi Zardi, head of the Atlas Workshops, praised the selection process for this year’s participants, emphasizing the program’s focus on fostering collaboration and mutual support among creators.
