The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) is pursuing a partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria to enhance the Nigerian film industry.
Husseini Shuaibu, the board’s Executive Director, revealed this during a meeting with Mr. Li Xuda, the cultural counsellor at the Chinese embassy and the director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria (CCCN).
The collaboration aims to encourage cultural exchanges and film cooperation while strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and China.
Shuaibu discussed ways the two organizations can mutually support each other’s film sectors, emphasizing the importance of learning from each other’s film classification methods and reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to the partnership.
“We are committed to strengthening our ties with China and exploring opportunities for growth and development in the film industry.”
Mr. Xuda, welcoming the executive director, expressed China’s willingness to support the board in enhancing the Nigerian film industry’s capabilities.
“We look forward to a new era of collaboration, which will result in more Nigerian films being exported to China and foster a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures,” Xuda remarked.
